Platinum List: 21-30
For reference, I will repeat what the time stamps mean on each list so you aren't confused:
Another Mundi P&C. Expect to see one every once in a while because Artifex Mundi releases ports about once a month, and late in the month too, and I usually do not have the money to buy it Day 1.
While the first game took several restarts from failed runs, this one wasn't as bad. With three creatures helping you out, the puzzles are really easy and the whole swan motif is actually from a very old folk-tale about swan brothers. Considering that Artifex Mundi is a European game company, I was not surprised in the least. ;)
I've seen the original Jurassic World and it was pretty neat, so imagine me surprised when LEGO got the rights to the movie... and the other Jurassic Park films! I was caught up on the entire series just from this game and I was glad they cut out the man-eating violence(although they had to keep in the scat - and I am not talking about the Scatman! - because of reasons). I wasn't put off by the scary Indominus Rex in the actual movie (and it wasn't really white in the actual movie) but... I attest that LEGO Raptors jumping on you is my scariest jump scare ever.
This was my first LEGO game I ever played, when it came bundled with my PS4. Years later I purchased the Deluxe Pack because this game has DLC trophies for extra levels. I don't mind the levels of the DLC - the DC universe is vast and has many heroes that need to tell their stories. Arrow and The Suicide Squad are pretty nifty DLC levels.
The Lantern Planets remind me of the orbital planets from Ratchet and Clank: Going Commando and while the races are tough, they aren't rage-quitting tough when you get the right character.
MARVEL's universe is not as fun for me as DC's universe, but I am open-minded and I do have several characters I like. Having seen the actual Age of Ultron movie a couple of years ago, I came into this title with a lot of experience. Again, I was caught up on the first Avengers movie and Loki is a very crafty villain. LEGO Agent Coulson is becoming one of my favorite characters, and I did love the flashback missions with Agent Carter. I'm almost tempted to watch the Carter TV series on Hulu!
However, the collection grind was boring as hell. The DLC levels were pretty decent - I love Captain Marvel and A New and Different Doctor Strange. ^_^
This had to be my Silver Anniversary Platinum.
Of all the RPG series I love, my waifu is always Dragon Quest, now and forever. I forgive that the characters are kissing cousins to Goku because of their shared artist, Akira Toriyama, because while Dragonball is all about Ranma Saotome Martial Arts, Dragon Quest is all about high fantasy. The original Dragon Quest IV (dubbed Dragon Warrior IV in the US) was one of my first loves. ^_^
I've played every Dragon Quest game there ever was and emulated V and VI before they came out as remade on the Nintendo DS system. So when this game came out as a love child between Dragon Quest and Terraria/Minecraft, I was reluctant. Eventually I told myself to buy it... and I loved it.
Dragon Quest, the original story, was not well told due to the game's restraints. To me, that game was the worst because it was Grind Central. However, this game retells that story in a new light and I really really enjoy the retelling.I am not spoiling anything but this game is awesome and I cannot wait to see where the story goes with the sequel which was announced, considering they added swimming mechanics!
The challenges were trying but I managed to get through the hardest one(complete the game in a certain number of game days) with the help of CVSSP and his wonderful game guides. :)
I could go on, but this description is no longer a summary. XD
So you have to eat your bitter fruit as well as your tasty treats at times, so I knuckled down and ate these next three titles.
Honestly, if it wasn't for the owner of StayPationt Trophies, I would have never downloaded these.
(Another platinum icon because the screenshot I had wasn't really great.)
He also helped me with Everybody's Gone to the Rapture and N.E.R.O. so his guides are really great. These games were on my accounts and I wanted to get rid of them ASAP. Yuck.
I wish I could say good things about this game but it was boring and I put it off a while. I really don't hate the game, it's just that they should have released the first Book of Unwritten Tales.
Now for my 30th platinum, which was much more entertaining. (Please don't hate on me. The above four games weren't BAD, they were just boring for me. Luckily, they didn't take days to complete.)
Yep, the Ratchet and Clank: The Movie: The Game. I enjoyed this more than the original Ratchet and Clank, and I platinumed that game! It is a bit of a grind but it's not too bad and having watched all of the cutscenes, I enjoyed this game.^_^
